Deo Volente was founded in 2020 by Perla Castellanos Lacher. She was born and raised in Jalisco, Mexico, and her heritage comes from a long line of Mexican Ranchers who take pride in high-quality leather products from Leon, Mexico. This region of Mexico is known in the Western hemisphere for its long history of leather production that goes back to the early 16th century.

Over the years, with many prayers, Perla dreamed of bringing her longing love of Mexican leather to the United States so Americans could experience the quality, durability, and beauty of Mexican craftsmanship. She began her journey by searching throughout Leon for various leather treatment facilities (tanneries), leather craftsmen (maquilarios), and hardware to produce traditionally made rustic leather goods. Through vendor sourcing, she sampled leather from full-grain gold-rated tanneries and tested with various maquilarious to select partners to bring her vision to reality. Deo Volente is proud to offer leather products that are 100% made in Mexico, so customers can build memories enjoying authentic Mexican leather products.
